Ep 6: That's a Wrap. The Structure Changed, the Work Didn't

Lisa Watts

CEO & Founder

Season 1, Episode 6 of 6. The finale. Previously: one production became fifty-five.

Six episodes ago this production was a yes and a scramble.

Since then it crewed up across time zones in a weekend. It edited on the tools the team already knew. It made its own call on AI. And it scaled without buying a building.

Look back at that list and notice what didn’t change. The story. The craft. The people making the decisions. The editor’s shortcuts. The colorist’s eye.

Nothing about the work changed. The structure did.

The pattern across the season

Every episode came back to the same tension. The way this industry is organized was built for a world where people, machines and media had to share a room. That world is ending, and the question is what replaces it.

One answer is to keep patching. Add a transfer tool, a remote access product, another storage tier, another vendor. It works, in the way a building held together with tape works.

The other answer is to treat the structure as a single thing. One environment for workstations, media, access and cost. Bring your own tools and licenses. Bring whoever you want, from wherever they are. Bring AI in on your terms, or not at all.

Eli Weisman, our Chief Experience Officer, wrote the sharpest version of this argument: you didn’t lose margin on creativity. You lost it on structure.

Your studio. Your way.

That’s what this season was about. Not a platform. A way of running a studio where the infrastructure gets out of the way and the work is the only thing anyone has to think about.

If you have a production coming up, start it with us. Start any plan by Friday 4 December and we’ll add bonus workstation hours in your first month, guided onboarding, and an environment set up for your next project. Standard pricing, no seat limits.

Thanks for watching Season 1.
